Dance Rap is probabaly one of the most prevalent styles of music on the radio today. There is really no meaning to most of the mainstream Rap music on the air. All of the messages sent say the same thing and tie it to a tight bassline and presto! dance-rap. Back in the day there used to be a message sent in the track about life in some part and time of the artist. In some cases there were angry feelings brought out because of this. But it still had something to say.
Today’s music can be compared to to Mambo #5. They tell you how to move on the dance floor and, now that I think about it, there is a rivalry and anger being built up by rival dance styles being battled out on the dance floor.
Dance-Rap, good music for fun in the club, but what if you’re looking for a message, something to realte to?
