Verizon Wireless has been allowed to take over Alltel Wireless in a 28.1 Billion dollar deal. Verizon/Alltel will take over as the nation’s #1 cellular provider, beating out AT&T who took the position in 2004 when it merged with Cingular .

Who will win the mobility battle in the end? What will happen to Alltel and their funny commercials depicting the 4 competing nerds? And Chad? will he still have a job after all of this, or will the “Can you hear me now” guy be the ruler? Only time will tell…
